Week 2 - Days 3 & 4
I was feeling good enough to attempt the insanity Cardio recovery after being sick. It was good because it wasn't too hard but it got me back into the swing of things.
The next day I went with plyometrics and cardio. I still had some lingering effects of the cold which made breathing harder than normal. Unfortunately, during the last set I managed to pull my left calf muscle during the cross jacks. It figures I had 15 seconds left and I pulled it.
I'm hoping it doesn't linger and starts to feel better or I'll have my second set back. Very frustrating!

Week 2 - Day 2 - Still sick. Skipped the workout again but I did get on my bike for 30 minutes to get some sort of workout in. Going on the stationary bike for 30 mins is nothing compared to the insanity workout. I did get a good sweat going and hopefully will help so I can get back to some insanity.

Week 2 - Day 1 - Stalled by sickness
Unfortunately, I did not start week 2 today. I have come down with a bad cold and felt that I would be better served by taking an extra day than doing a workout. The insanity workout is hard enough when you don't have a head cold.
I have zero energy and feel like I've had a fever come and go all day. I'm hoping that by tomorrow I'll have some energy to atleast attempt the workout. I'm bummed that my health has taken me off course for now.
The weird thing is that is how it always seems to work out. I start exercising, I start feeling good and motivated. Then I get sick and it all goes down hill from there. I'm determined to not let it happen this time.

Day 6 - Plyo Cardio Circuit - Week one is done!!! I don't care how good of shape you are in, this workout is a butt killer. I felt strong through the "warm up" but once I got into the second circuit of exercises I was having a tough time getting through the exercises. Several 30 second breaks turned into 1 minute breaks.
I think my recovery time is getting better. After my breaks I feel like I can work for longer periods than in the beginning of the week. It might just be all mental right now, I'm not sure one's body can increase noticiably in 6 days. Either way, I'm feeling good. I'm not burned out or dreading the next day's routine. The only frustrating thing is that I seemed to have gained 4lbs this week. My body might not know what is going on so it might be storing for future famine? I'm hoping it figures it out next week.
A needed break for tomorrow and the back at it!!!
Day 5 - Pure Cardio
I can't say I did the workout. I had a league basketball game tonight and didn't think my body would hold up. Jenn did do the Pure Cardio workout and she said it was pretty tough but she felt good. The good news is we won and I know I got some good cardio work in. I kept telling myself to work hard while I was in the game to try to simulate an Insanity workout.
Tomorrow is the end of the first week- back to plyometrics. It went fast and is fun. I'm pumped up with energy.

Day 4 - Insanity Workout -Cardio Recovery
Today was by far the easiest day, and I needed it. My legs are still sore from the previous three days. Today there was a lot of stretching and it felt really good.
It was still a good workout. I'm not very flexibile as it is, so I believe today's workout will benefit me in more than just recovering from days 1-3.
I'm still getting used to all the food intake.

Day 3 - Insanity workout
Today was tough. Mostly because of the soreness. My legs, glutes and groins are toast. It was tough walking around today and I wondered how I was going to get through the workout.
We took some extra time warming up and stretching before we jumped into the workout. A lot of emphasis on shoulders today more than the other days- my legs needed it.
I'm feeling good, sleeping much better and not dragging through the day.

I'm still getting used to eating 5 meals a day. A strange side effect is that I actually feel hungrier for my bigger meals than when I was only 3 meals.

Looking forward to day 4. Bring it.
